To celebrate international museums day, Dubai culture and arts authority offered free museum visits across the city.

Culture lovers and art enthusiasts had the opportunity to explore top notch exhibitions and art displays without spending one Dirham.

This initiative has made Dubai’s heritage and history accessible to everyone. Visitors got the chance to discover the cultural and historical evolution of Dubai through guided visits to monuments such as Dubai Creek at Al-Shindaha and the house of the poet Al-Okaidi.

Dubai’s authorities are investing in arts and culture with the aim to spread knowledge, scientific discovery and human heritage. This celebration was organised by the International Council of Museums (ICM) and supported by authorities globally.

“The future of museums: recover and reimagine”, was the theme of this year’s celebration as chosen by ICM. All galleries and museums in Dubai welcomed visitors from around the world.

It’s worth noting that Sharja Museum Authority has provided as well free access to the 16 museums around the emirate.

Visiting Sharja art museum, one of the leading art institution in the region, granted access to more than 500 unique artworks while interactive exhibitions were available at Sharja Science Museum offering in-depth exciting knowledge for visitors.
